TMS Discussion ThreadsThe following is a list of links to some of the better discussions from our old forum. However, we encourage you tovisit our new foruminstead.- Could surgery be necessary?: "I wish Dr. Sarno himself would address this more thoroughly. I also had weakness with little numbness in my buttocks. I don't know how that happens. Seems like it should be numb first. He never said that "all" herniations are harmless."
- Anger and compassion: "The more angry people get with their symptoms, or the more frustrated they get with their lack of progress, the worse things can get. Reduce any inner conflict, be kind to yourself, accept the emotional cause and explore what is underlying the symptoms."
- The Presence Process and Trauma: "I really like what he says about Inner Presence and Oneness and hope to keep that up. Also I want to practise the Emotional Cleansing Process more because there are always occasions that come up and not necessarily neatly in the sessions when they fall in the PP."
- Morning Back Stiffness: "No matter what I do, every morning on waking, I have a very stiff lower back. I sometimes can barely stand. Usually I do a cobra like yoga position (sought of like a Sphinx), and some hamstring stretches and my back is better enough to get through the day."
- New to long-term sciatic pain, help appreciated: "What feelings am I being protected from? I journal and am very open to exploring my feelings, my childhood experiences, my issues with raising 3 almost adult kids, a husband, pets, a home, work, parents, friends, and all that .... but in spite of that, it's not enough.... yet!"
