TMS Discussion Threads
The following is a list of links to some of the better discussions from our old forum. However, we encourage you tovisit our new foruminstead.

  • Recognizing the importance of not trying too hard: "Everyone's treatment is different. The techniques one person used may not be right for someone else, so if you put a lot of effort in one technique (journaling) and after a while you do not see improvement, I would suggest to try another technique like meditation, mindfulness, or affirmations."
  • Post-surgery doubts: "Starting to wonder if TMS is a part of this, but without seeing Dr. Sarno, who knows?? I will continue to do TMS work. It can't hurt. The problem is believing in TMS after surgery. It's hard to forget your medical past."
  • Back pain, disc extrusions treatable using Sarno’s TMS?: "I have let go of some of the fear but not all of it. I do believe that positive thoughts and belief in TMS will cure me. Its like the 1 motrin I allow myself a day. I take it in the middle of the day and it has the effects as if I took a vicodin. Crazy."
  • Getting RSI/TMS from masturbating too often: "Just like pain has a really powerful effect on us that allows our unconscious to use it to distract us, sex can be the same way. A great power to distract and therefore, a great way to escape something that we don't want to deal with."
  • Past tailbone injury, or Sarno’s TMS?: "Jayne, 'stirring up your anxiety' is exactly the reason why you should not be hesitant to journal. I understand the fear, though, but in fact it is what will help you get relief. Writing things out, in spite of discomfort, emotional outbursts or fear help me."
