However, we encourage you tovisit our new foruminstead.- Tailbone pain: TMS or a previous injury acting up: Fear is by far the hardest thing to get through, but one technique that I have found to be helpful in this area is practicing mindfulness. Simply focusing on the present moment and not what will happen if I exercise or how am I going to feel in the morning.
- One name for tension-induced pain: The word Mindbody will imply to many patients that they have a mental problem. On the contrary in most of my patients, they are mentally stronger than average but are coping with very high levels of stress.
- Back pain returned: I can honestly say after reading a couple of Sarno's books that I do have a fear of getting old/dying. I saw my first wife die at an early age and now as I get older (41) I get more and more focussed on my aches and pains and their possible causes.
- The Presence Process, by Michael Brown: I realized, I was expecting the quick fix. This process, in many ways, reminds me of applying Dr. Sarno's information. That hasn't been a quick fix either, but worth the effort and I continue to benefit from it.
- Update on back pain: The most important thing to keep in mind, I think, is to recognize that, assuming that it is just TMS/PPD and a doctor has ruled out anything more serious, that this is normal. It's important that you don't blame it on yourself or take it as a personal failing. Some people just take longer to heal.
