TMS Discussion Threads
The following is a list of links to some of the better discussions from our old forum. However, we encourage you tovisit our new foruminstead.

  • Can of worms: "I am a new member who has just started journalling. I am using the suggestions from the website Unlearn your Pain. I have begun listing and and detailing my experiences such as illness or death in family. I feel like I could write extensively about everything on the list."
  • TMS and parenting: "The adult you cares for her very deeply and knows that she is doing her (5 year old) best, but your own *inner* child doesn't get that. So you have this frustration, what Sarno might call rage, but you can't do anything with it."
  • Applying Michael Brown’s Presence Process to TMS: "most people won't do the presence process in my experience. it is as if the ego knows that doing the process will cause too drastic a change to be tolerated. doing the process requires that one give up(progressively) the ability to be a victim of anything."
  • Necessity of back surgery: "I'm a firm believer in mind-body connections and TMS but I do think you need to read the articles about MRIs and disc carefully. I couldn't find anywhere that it said that a sequestered disc could be asomatic."
  • Scheduled for surgery, but it could be TMS: "Our belief system can be extremely powerful, so it might be worth asking yourself ' What do I believe is going to help me get better' This is where the placebo effect of surgery can come in if for example you believe that need to have an operation in order to get better."

ShinglesNo shingles prevention 0 Feb 25 2010, 1:45 PM EST by ShinglesNo
Thread started: Feb 25 2010, 1:45 PM EST  Watch
I have just had my first and hopefully last experience of shingles, now 65 I am very interested in dealing with stress causing issues to give my immune system the support it deserves. I have a keen interest in learning from other people health profiles and hopefully keep my resistance to the shingles virus high enough to keep it down in its harmless place. Given the evidence of the virus becoming active in 30% of astronauts Social isolation seems to fit the picture very well with a sense of loss of role value that so often affects people in retirement, having met shingles once I am very happy to exclude it from my future and would like to communicate with others who share this view.

The Send Message link is as follows:
http://tmswiki.wetpaint.com/account/ProfileName?action=addMessage?to=ProfileName
Substitute your profile name in the 2 places where it says 'ProfileName'.

For example, I've made "here" (in "click here", above) into a link and I put the Send Message link into it with my profile name.
