TMS Discussion Threads
The following is a list of links to some of the better discussions from our old forum. However, we encourage you tovisit our new foruminstead.

  • Advice on dealing with TMS in the form of sciatica: I have suffered with sciatica for over 20 yrs., with bouts lasting months and even years, other times only a few days. When I read Sarno's books about 2.5 yrs. ago, I immediately felt better and hardly had any sciatic symptoms for many months afterward.
  • Slow recovery from Sarno’s TMS: What becomes confusing is that while I practice accepting myself (body, mind, spirit), I don't accept the pain. And I think the clarification to the brain needs to happen….this is where I get “heady.” I am always looking for the “right” thing to say or do to make this “work.”
  • Could TMS appear in the same place as a previous structural injury: Since journaling can uncover repressed emotions, our unconscious mind will try to prevent us from doing it, as it thinks we cannot handle the strong emotions. Our unconscious mind may feel threatened by what may arise during journaling.
  • The Presence Process and Trauma: I really like what he says about Inner Presence and Oneness and hope to keep that up. Also I want to practise the Emotional Cleansing Process more because there are always occasions that come up and not necessarily neatly in the sessions when they fall in the PP.
  • Anger begets anger, right?: If our brain is our body, our body our brain, why are we fostering a dichotomy that doesn't exist? For me, the symptoms seem to subside (but do not go away) when I just let them be. When I trust my health and strength. When I get angry at my brain, the pain increases. Anger, after all, begets anger.
