TMS Discussion Threads
The following is a list of links to some of the better discussions from our old forum. However, we encourage you tovisit our new foruminstead.

  • Repetitive Strain Injury and Tension Myositis Syndrome: For people who might not be receptive to TMS I tell them this: My back pain responded to nothing I tried, conventional medicine and alternative medicene didn't help, but once I started treating it as stress, it left completely. How's that for a mindbody connection?
  • Anger generating more anger: Dr A told me that he believes it's more important to be compassionate, and that Dr Sarno was coming round to that way of thinking. I've used anger on occasion and it has helped but I think in the long term it's more important to be kind to yourself.
  • Doubts about Sarno’s method: I can say though for myself, I did not have doubts as the only other options before me were lie here in pain or have back surgery. I chose to immerse myself in reading daily and writing a lot to clear out years of emotional trash. It worked and I was back to work and living a fun life.
  • Morning Back Stiffness: No matter what I do, every morning on waking, I have a very stiff lower back. I sometimes can barely stand. Usually I do a cobra like yoga position (sought of like a Sphinx), and some hamstring stretches and my back is better enough to get through the day.
  • Can a structural problem resolve and TMS start in location?: Everyone I've seen in the medical community believes my situation started with an injury, but nothing shows up on tests. Is it possible that it did start with an injury which has since healed, but TMS has caused me to continue to feel pain? Or maybe it's been TMS all along.
