TMS Discussion ThreadsThe following is a list of links to some of the better discussions from our old forum. However, we encourage you tovisit our new foruminstead.- Tumor on toe: "most people won't do the presence process in my experience. it is as if the ego knows that doing the process will cause too drastic a change to be tolerated. doing the process requires that one give up(progressively) the ability to be a victim of anything."
- Is back surgery sometimes necessary for large herniated discs?: "I read Dr. Sarno's book five times and was a believer in TMS until I saw an MRI of my back 1 month ago. I was having severe pain in my legs and back after shoveling snow. On the MRI, my L4 -L5 disc was herniated to the point of almost completely BLOCKING the spinal canal."
- Key phrases/pep talks that have helped people: "Was diagnosed with TMS and have been writing, reading, etc for months with little or no relief. I have recently began seeing a Sarno therapist who is wonderful, but I am still in pain and struggling with the day to day pep talks that I need to say to myself especially when I have a flare up."
- Is my back surgery necessary?: "Don't talk to people about the physical, I'll be honest I don't even read what people write about that stuff, I just skim over it because even reading stuff like that can trigger back pain in me, so try and stay away from conversations like that, they fuel the FEAR and feed TMS."
- Importance of not trying too hard: "For me acceptance is about accepting TMS, not accepting the pain. I'm acknowledging that TMS is here for a reason, it's here to tell me that my life is not in balance and I need to find out how and why it's not, and do something, or lots of things to change it."
