TMS Discussion Threads
The following is a list of links to some of the better discussions from our old forum. However, we encourage you tovisit our new foruminstead.

  • Any phrases, affirmations that help others recover?: When I had flare ups I just used to say stuff like this: "Right, there's nothing wrong with me physically, I KNOW that, so what's going on emotionally...work?...family?...finances?"...etc? Until I'd hit on something and suspect it might be that.
  • First day back at work: You are so right, TMS is a gift, and we are the lucky ones but you only realise that once you come out of the other side. I am glad the forumites played a small part in your success, it's our way of paying it forward.
  • Vasculitic neuropathy: It seems to me that many people have only read Dr. Sarno's earlier books and not his latest two (especially his most recent, "The Divided Mind") as this point is addressed again and again... It isn't just about back pains or shoulder pains (etc.) anymore.
  • Tumor on toe: most people won't do the presence process in my experience. it is as if the ego knows that doing the process will cause too drastic a change to be tolerated. doing the process requires that one give up(progressively) the ability to be a victim of anything.
  • Could TMS appear in the same place as a previous structural injury: Since journaling can uncover repressed emotions, our unconscious mind will try to prevent us from doing it, as it thinks we cannot handle the strong emotions. Our unconscious mind may feel threatened by what may arise during journaling.

chuckTMS Interview with Dr. Schubiner 1 May 13 2011, 12:48 PM EDT by chuckTMS

Hey all,

A while back Forest put me in touch with Dr. Howard Schubiner, so I could interview with him for the wiki. Forest and I put in a lot of time organizing the questions and reaching out to other practitioners to have them give feedback and come up with questions as well. Due to Dr. Schubiner's extensive knowledge of PPD, Forest and I decided to publish the interview in three segments 1. General information about Dr. Schubiner and PPD, 2. Dr. Schubiner's research in PPD, and 3, PPD Treatment.

With that said I am very excited to announce that today we posted the first segment of the interview. It gives great insights into how Dr. Schubiner came to use the PPD approach and about some of his general views on PPD, including PPD equivalents. The interview is located at http://tmswiki.wetpaint.com/page/Interview+with+Howard+Schubiner%2C+MD

I hope you all enjoy reading the interview and I look forward to publishing the other segments soon
