TMS Discussion ThreadsThe following is a list of links to some of the better discussions from our old forum. However, we encourage you tovisit our new foruminstead.- Somatic Experiencing: I wanted to let everyone know that about a week ago Dr. Bob Evans wrote a wiki article on Somatic Experiencing. It is very in depth and interesting. Dr. Evans discusses the process of SE and how to incorporate it into a PPD treatment plan. It is a terrific read.
- how does tms cause insomnia: I find the nights I am restless it is something else going on--not physical. I'm usually bothered by something, anticipating something, etc. Fortunately these instances are very rare for me, even when I had bad bad tms pain I was still able to sleep.
- Returned to work, a step in the right direction: The way i see it, "cure" is RSI no longer having any impact on your life. And going back to work is a massive massive step in the right direction. Indeed, i wouldn't be too hung up on the metric of "pain" - using the metric of "impact on life" is a better measure of progress...
- Could TMS appear in the same place as a previous structural injury: Since journaling can uncover repressed emotions, our unconscious mind will try to prevent us from doing it, as it thinks we cannot handle the strong emotions. Our unconscious mind may feel threatened by what may arise during journaling.
- Disc Extrusions and TMS: There is a readiness factor in accepting that our emotions/past are causing our physical pain (took a few weeks for this to sink in for me). One question I can ask you is: when the pain got bad, what was going on in your life at that time? What conflict? I know what it was for me!
