TMS Discussion ThreadsThe following is a list of links to some of the better discussions from our old forum. However, we encourage you tovisit our new foruminstead.- Is there something structural, or has it been TMS all along?: Sounds like both of you have experienced pain moving around or new symptoms appearing in an effort to try and keep the distraction going, which is very common and usually a good sign that you are starting to make progress in banishing TMS.
- Susan Derozier, an expert in journaling, wrote us an email: Dear Susan, Thank you so much for sharing such sage advice about journaling. I journaled a few years ago, specifically to recover from TMS, and found it very beneficial, although sometimes journaling caused me to have to go thru more physical pain to get to the relief.
- Can of worms: I am a new member who has just started journalling. I am using the suggestions from the website Unlearn your Pain. I have begun listing and and detailing my experiences such as illness or death in family. I feel like I could write extensively about everything on the list.
- The importance of EXPLORING OUR CHILDHOOD: Dr. Sarno tells his patients that our “overflowing beaker” of rage is made up of three components: 1/3 childhood, 1/3 current stressors, and 1/3 our personality. Most of us think of our childhood as happy.
- Somatic Experiencing: I wanted to let everyone know that about a week ago Dr. Bob Evans wrote a wiki article on Somatic Experiencing. It is very in depth and interesting. Dr. Evans discusses the process of SE and how to incorporate it into a PPD treatment plan. It is a terrific read.
