TMS Discussion Threads
The following is a list of links to some of the better discussions from our old forum. However, we encourage you tovisit our new foruminstead.

  • Slow recovery from Sarno’s TMS: What becomes confusing is that while I practice accepting myself (body, mind, spirit), I don't accept the pain. And I think the clarification to the brain needs to happen….this is where I get “heady.” I am always looking for the “right” thing to say or do to make this “work.”
  • Morning Back Stiffness: No matter what I do, every morning on waking, I have a very stiff lower back. I sometimes can barely stand. Usually I do a cobra like yoga position (sought of like a Sphinx), and some hamstring stretches and my back is better enough to get through the day.
  • Is my back surgery necessary?: Don't talk to people about the physical, I'll be honest I don't even read what people write about that stuff, I just skim over it because even reading stuff like that can trigger back pain in me, so try and stay away from conversations like that, they fuel the FEAR and feed TMS.
  • Scared of walking: I am having few new physical problems which are tms (knee pain-other knee, not the leg affected by sciatica, and occasional finger numbness) so it could be that the brain is realizing. I'll know when things settle down.
  • TMS and parenting: The adult you cares for her very deeply and knows that she is doing her (5 year old) best, but your own *inner* child doesn't get that. So you have this frustration, what Sarno might call rage, but you can't do anything with it.

Hiya,

I wanted to let everyone know that this Saturday, October 15th, from 3:00-4:00PM EST the wiki will be starting a new program called the Peer Support Drop-in Chat room. In short it is a chat room where anyone can go to and receive live support and tips on how to get better. The advice will be a lot like that found on the forum. This is a great opportunity to receive support and chat with fellow TMSers. The chat room is located under the "Other Resources" section at http://tmswiki.org/page/Peer+Support+Drop-In . The chat room will be open one hour every Saturday. I look forward to seeing you all there.
