TMS Discussion Threads The following is a list of links to some of the better discussions from our old forum. However, we encourage you to visit our new forum instead. - Could my plantar fasciitis be TMS?: I went for a walk along the beach (no shoes, feeling really proud of myself), felt actually quite fine and excited, but then several hours later felt the old heel pain really flare up, worse than it had in the 2 or so months that I've been applying the Sarno principles to my pain.
- Dr. John Sklar’s Presence Process Thread: Still really enjoying doing the breathing and am now happily using the Presence Activating Statement right the way through. Sometimes when I do my morning session I almost drop back off to sleep but that's the only time it happens. Feeling calmer and not so fearful.
- Can chronic plantar fasciitis be TMS: I read on the site about cases of people with acute PF being cured using the TMS approach, but I am wondering if it is possible for a case as chronic as mine to not be structurally based as well?
- One syndrome, one physiology: Better understanding of Somatic Stress Disorder physiology (and there definitely is a physiology), would help clinicians to accept the whole concept, would support patients self-image as strong people coping with a medical problem and would lead to better treatments.
- Any advice on dealing with acute sciatic pain: I do understand that my lingering symptom is TMS, I do not believe it's physical, I journal every few days, I see a therapist and read about TMS and have finally taken more time on the site here and the other TMS help site to read others' stories and yet, there has been no improvement whatsoever.
