TMS Discussion ThreadsThe following is a list of links to some of the better discussions from our old forum. However, we encourage you tovisit our new foruminstead.- New to long-term sciatic pain, help appreciated: What feelings am I being protected from? I journal and am very open to exploring my feelings, my childhood experiences, my issues with raising 3 almost adult kids, a husband, pets, a home, work, parents, friends, and all that .... but in spite of that, it's not enough.... yet!
- Necessity of back surgery: I'm a firm believer in mind-body connections and TMS but I do think you need to read the articles about MRIs and disc carefully. I couldn't find anywhere that it said that a sequestered disc could be asomatic.
- Scared of walking: I am having few new physical problems which are tms (knee pain-other knee, not the leg affected by sciatica, and occasional finger numbness) so it could be that the brain is realizing. I'll know when things settle down.
- GAD: I have had TMS since 1994; occassionally, I am painfree for years -- have been battling it for the past 2 1/2 years. This week I was diagnosed with Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD)....I am wondering did TMS cause me to get GAD; or did GAD cause the TMS? I just know that they both make me feel BAD.
- Another syndrome name: This is going to be super challenging, but what is it going to take to get at least the TMS docs to agree on one name for tension induced pain? I notice Dr. Schubiner's name for TMS is MBS - Mind Body Syndrome. Brady names it AOS - Autonomic Overload Syndrome.
