However, we encourage you tovisit our new foruminstead.- Difficult relapses from Tension Myositis Syndrome: Talk about finding yet another reason to feel bad about yourself.....why can't I cure myself of this when so many people have, and the books make it sound so easy???? I literally had a huge increase in pain about 2 months into the program.
- Fear of Walking: My biggest problem is walking. I developed a fear of it and, depending on how stressed I feel, I start getting tired and dragging the foot after 10 to 20 minutes. At it's worst I look quite disabled which makes it worse as I feel people notice it.
- Could TMS appear in the same place as a previous structural injury: Since journaling can uncover repressed emotions, our unconscious mind will try to prevent us from doing it, as it thinks we cannot handle the strong emotions. Our unconscious mind may feel threatened by what may arise during journaling.
- Recognizing the importance of not trying too hard: Everyone's treatment is different. The techniques one person used may not be right for someone else, so if you put a lot of effort in one technique (journaling) and after a while you do not see improvement, I would suggest to try another technique like meditation, mindfulness, or affirmations.
- The importance of EXPLORING OUR CHILDHOOD: Dr. Sarno tells his patients that our “overflowing beaker” of rage is made up of three components: 1/3 childhood, 1/3 current stressors, and 1/3 our personality. Most of us think of our childhood as happy.
