TMS Discussion Threads
The following is a list of links to some of the better discussions from our old forum. However, we encourage you tovisit our new foruminstead.

  • One name for tension-induced pain: "The word Mindbody will imply to many patients that they have a mental problem. On the contrary in most of my patients, they are mentally stronger than average but are coping with very high levels of stress."
  • Necessity of back surgery: "I'm a firm believer in mind-body connections and TMS but I do think you need to read the articles about MRIs and disc carefully. I couldn't find anywhere that it said that a sequestered disc could be asomatic."
  • Will journaling open a can of worms: "Right now I think it's not the issues that I was unaware but the feelings about them. I didn't allow myself the vulnerability of actually feeling hurt, ashamed, because it made me feel weak, a failure, which in turn fed on my low self-esteem trait."
  • Necessity of back surgery: "I'm a firm believer in mind-body connections and TMS but I do think you need to read the articles about MRIs and disc carefully. I couldn't find anywhere that it said that a sequestered disc could be asomatic."
  • Foot pain and TMS: "The fact that your pain has not responded to the mind body treatment may be because you still think it could be structural. Believing that our symptoms are caused by our emotions is key to recovery. You are not however asked to believe without evidence."

Hi all,

I thought that you all might find the following quote interesting: "While Buddhists have probably claimed mindfulness as an essential part of their religious practice, mindfulness is essential to Christianity." It's from a blog called "Musings of a Christian Psychologist:"

People interested in this may just want to Google "christianity mindfulness"... When I did, I saw a huge number of links about it, and you can choose the ones you like the best. Please let us know about your favorites!
