TMS Discussion ThreadsThe following is a list of links to some of the better discussions from our old forum. However, we encourage you tovisit our new foruminstead.- Scared of walking: I am having few new physical problems which are tms (knee pain-other knee, not the leg affected by sciatica, and occasional finger numbness) so it could be that the brain is realizing. I'll know when things settle down.
- Using mindfulness to combat anxiety and TMS: In terms of the tips in this thread, I think about it in terms of the amygdala, the part of the brain that handles fear. Something made you afraid and that sensitized your amygdala. ... and that, in turn, made you more likely to become afraid, which further sensitizes your amygdala.
- Any advice on dealing with acute sciatic pain: I do understand that my lingering symptom is TMS, I do not believe it's physical, I journal every few days, I see a therapist and read about TMS and have finally taken more time on the site here and the other TMS help site to read others' stories and yet, there has been no improvement whatsoever.
- Could TMS cause lack of sleep?: I think my journal activity has hit the real crutch of my subconscious in last few days. Family stuff has not only brought on insomnia but a slight return of shoulder pain. Took me 28 days to really get into my core issues and i think tms has reacted as should be expected.
- Doubts about Sarno’s remedies: When later I read Sarno´s books I was relieved at thinking it was psychosomatic and his emphasis on childhood rage and actual circumstances fitted in with my life and my views on psychotherapy.
