TMS Discussion Threads
The following is a list of links to some of the better discussions from our old forum. However, we encourage you tovisit our new foruminstead.

  • SCIATIC PAIN - LATEST UPDATE: Just wanted to let all of you who have encouraged me through all my endless tests for acute sciatica which has lasted a year, that I saw a 2nd neurologist last week, who assured me that neurologically I was 200% OK.
  • Reflecting on our childhood experiences: Journaling and therapy can work wonders in figuring this out. Emotions are often the cause of chronic pain, but it can take some work finding out what the cause is. In the meantime, read the many articles and success stories here at the site. They will encourage you to keep going on and not give up.
  • Identifying a common name for mindbody syndromes: Personally, I think if psychosomatic had not gotten such a bad rap from the world of psychology all these years, and in the minds of the general public, it would be the best and most comprehensive word/diagnoses to use.
  • Afraid to walk: I have never suffered from sciatica, so I cannot comment on that but I can tell you that the fear of walking used to dominate my life. On my profile there is a link to my success story, it's long-ish but hopefully you can identify with some of it.
  • Disc Extrusions and TMS: There is a readiness factor in accepting that our emotions/past are causing our physical pain (took a few weeks for this to sink in for me). One question I can ask you is: when the pain got bad, what was going on in your life at that time? What conflict? I know what it was for me!
